Ukraine has developed a plan for a new counteroffensive of its armed forces, although the timing and direction of its execution remain unknown at present.

Ukraine's President, Volodymyr Zelensky, stated this in an interview with BILD's deputy editor-in-chief, Paul Ronzheimer.

"Yes, we have a counteroffensive plan. We will definitely win. We have no alternative. But I cannot promise it and name a date," the head of state emphasized.

As Zelensky noted, the military needs weapons, particularly those provided by the United States, for a counteroffensive.

The president stressed that Russia has more people and more weapons, but "the united West has modern weapons systems."

"That's why we will receive certain technologies. And if we continue to increase production and receive licenses from our partners, then it's not about people. It's about the quality of weapons," Zelensky added.

The head of the Ukrainian state emphasized that Putin could use the freezing of the war only to prepare for a new attack.

"The world will say: Yes, we managed to freeze the conflict, the missiles are not flying. However, this is only until Russia increases the production and stockpiles of military equipment, missiles, and drones and analyzes all the mistakes it made in the beginning," Zelensky emphasized.

It should be noted that Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky has also mentioned that the main Russian offensive may start at the end of May or June.

According to Zelensky, the third year of a full-scale invasion will be a "turning point," the format of the end of hostilities may depend on 2024.

For his part, Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov, head of Ukraine's intelligence, said that Ukraine expects Russian offensive operations to intensify in late spring and early summer.

Earlier, the commander of the Ground Forces of Ukraine's armed forces, Oleksandr Pavliuk, stated that Russia is creating a new group of troops with more than 100,000 soldiers. According to him, the Russians may try to carry out a new offensive in one of the directions in the summer.

According to the Institute for the Study of War, Russian troops are accelerating offensive operations on the entire territory of the front in Ukraine and, at the same time, "mitigating the likely increase in losses in manpower and equipment."
