The Security Service of Ukraine struck a Russian radar station in the Bryansk region, which monitored the sky 700 km deep into Ukraine.

Hromadske reports this by referring to its source in law enforcement agencies.

This refers to the newly updated "Nebo-U" complex, which helped Russian troops identify Ukrainian weapons and provided assistance to bombers launching KAB bombs along the Ukrainian border.

Such a radar station costs 100 million dollars. Seven aircraft-type kamikaze drones hit it. As noted, the attack caused the Nebo-U complex to no longer work and "probably turned into a colander."

"Thanks to the defeat of this radar, the enemy has fewer opportunities to detect air targets along Ukraine's northern border.

The radar blindness of the Russians will help our troops conduct reconnaissance, launch drones, and better use army aviation in this area," the hromadske's interlocutor said.

This is the second Nebo-U complex that the 13th Main Directorate of Military Counterintelligence of the Ukrainian Security Service has taken out. The first was located in the Russian Federation's Belgorod region.

For reference:

In addition, on September 28, 2023, a drone of the Security Service of Ukraine detected and destroyed the Russian radar station "Kasta" near the village of Girya, Belovsky District, Kursk Region, Russia.

Also, attack drones recently attacked a military unit in the city of Kovilkino, which is located in Mordovia and is located about 650 kilometers from Ukraine.

According to Serhii Bratchuk, leader of the Civic Council at the Odesa Regional Military Administration, UAVs targeted the 590th Separate Radio Engineering Unit of 84680 military unit. This unit is equipped with the 29B6 Container over-the-horizon radar, with a range of approximately 3,000 km and an altitude of over 100 km.
