According to Andrii Yusov, a spokesperson for the Main Directorate of Intelligence, Ukrainian developers have successfully established production of their own versions of Western military equipment. These include the "Lys," "Sikach," and "Kharakternyk," which are the Ukrainian analogs of the M113, MaxxPro, and Humvee armored vehicles.

He announced this on the air of the telethon.

"It's actually an amazing story when they managed to rebuild on the spot, without losing combat capabilities, from existing materials, or from equipment that was no longer suitable. Or by making their parts. In particular, hulls and other individual units. Or it is even using outdated Soviet elements from Soviet equipment. It's all underway, it's all already working, it's all already being used in combat conditions," Yusov said.

According to the representative of the Main Directorate of Intelligence, domestic equipment is not just experimental samples.

All of them have proven their effectiveness directly on the battlefield. In particular, during the defensive operation and subsequent cover-up of the withdrawal of Ukrainian units from Avdiivka.

Also, "Sikach" and "Kharakternyk," as Yusov said, took part in the operation to eliminate the enemy sabotage and reconnaissance group in the east.

For reference:

As Rubryka previously reported, Ukraine plans to significantly increase the production of various types of weapons next year: the priority will be missiles and ammunition for anti-aircraft defense.

During the national telethon, Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk, the Deputy Head of the Ministry of Defense, announced that by 2024, the Ministry of Defense, in collaboration with the Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine, aims to significantly boost production in the following areas:

  • rockets,
  • ammunition,
  • weaponry,
  • and military equipment.

In 2024, Ukraine plans to produce 1 million FPV drones, over 10,000 mid-range strike drones, and over a thousand drones with a range of 1,000 km or more.

It is worth adding that Ukraine and Belgium plan to establish joint weapons production.

In turn, the German concern Rheinmetall is negotiating the construction of a tank plant in Ukraine.

Moreover, the Kremlin's threats to intensify the bombing of Ukraine will not affect the intentions of the German arms company Rheinmetall regarding this construction.

Even earlier, it was reported that Ukroboronprom JSC and the Polish company Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa would jointly produce 125 mm tank shells. Ukraine and Poland signed the corresponding agreement on April 5 this year.

In addition, Ukraine and one of the NATO countries began to produce 122-mm artillery shells. The first batch of ammunition has already been sent to the front.

About 300,000 people have been recruited to work in Ukraine's defense complex.

JSC "Ukrainian defense industry" signed a memorandum of cooperation with the leading German company Dynamit Nobel Defense.

In addition, Ukroboronprom will produce small arms in accordance with NATO standards.
