Drones attack oil depot and energy plant in Russian city of Oryol

Drones attacked an oil depot and an energy facility in the city of Oryol, Russia. Explosions are also reported in Kursk Oblast. 

"In the city of Oryol, two unmanned aerial vehicles crashed into the fuel and energy complex. The fire was promptly localized, and necessary assistance is being provided," said the governor of Oryol Oblast, Andrey Klychkov.

According to online reports, a kamikaze drone allegedly attempted to attack the "Orelneftproduct" oil depot in Oryol. Ukraine is traditionally accused of such attacks.

Anonymous Telegram channels claim that one drone collided with an empty tank on the territory of the "Orelnefteproduct" oil depot. They also report that there were no casualties.

The channels further assert that there was no fire after the attack, although they publish photos with a column of smoke.

The second drone reportedly attacked "Orelenergo" on Visokovoltna Street, resulting in a fire. Currently, the fire is under control.

Later, the governor reported that three people suffered injuries of moderate severity during the drone attack on the fuel and energy complex objects. Two individuals refused hospitalization.

There are also reports of loud incidents in Kursk Oblast. Russians mention the "work of air defense systems."

Russian media also claim that supposedly three drones were shot down in the sky above Kursk, all flying toward the Gurevich International Airport area.

Moreover, Russian air defense allegedly targeted drones over the city of Kurchatov and near the village of Gornal. In the latter incident, a woman was hospitalized in critical condition with shrapnel wounds.

Belgorod Oblast, Russia, is located near the border with Ukraine and borders Kharkiv, Sumy, and Luhansk regions. Russians frequently complain about attacks in their border regions while constantly shelling Ukrainian border towns.

On December 19, the governor of Bryansk Oblast claimed three drone attacks in the morning and blamed Ukraine. Local residents shared videos with audible explosions. Officials claim the drones were shot down, and there were no casualties.

On December 22, the Russians came up with a new "attack" on an oil storage facility in Bryansk Oblast. Russian media alleged that drones attempted to attack fuel tanks.

On December 30, due to the unprofessional work of Russian air defense in Belgorod, the number of casualties in the city rose to 22.
