Ukrainian army takes control of part of Opytne in Donetsk region − head of Avdiivka City Military Administration

Ukraine's armed forces successfully operated in the Donetsk region and took control of a part of Opytne, south of Avdiivka. Fighting is going on in the city.

The head of the Avdiivka City Military Administration, Vitaliy Barabash, reported this on the telethon air.

"In general, the situation along the line of defense around the city [Avdiivka – ed.] remains very tense. The enemy is pressing from the north of the city. From the south, in the area of Opytne, we have success. And it is, in my opinion, very significant. The enemy overslept a little, frankly saying this southern direction.

Two days ago, they conducted very powerful activities north of the city. When they were concentrated to the north of the city in their assault actions, the guys [Ukraine's Defence Forces – ed.] conducted, in my opinion, a lightning assault operation, and our guys still occupied a part of Opytne and took a position. And there are already battles in the settlement itself.

We hope that shortly, the village of Opytne will be entirely under the control of Ukraine's armed forces," Vitaliy Barabash said.

For reference:

According to the General Staff, the Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct an offensive operation on the Melitopol front. The defenders have to face heavily mined areas and well-built enemy fortifications.

As Rubryka reported, Ukrainian defenders entered the village of Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region and organized the evacuation of peaceful residents.

Also, Ukrainian soldiers continue to advance successfully on the Melitopol front, particularly in the Novodanilivka – Novoprokopivka section. They are fixed at the achieved boundaries.

It should be noted that on the Melitopol front of the Zaporizhia region, the occupiers are setting fire to minefields to stop the advance of the Ukrainian defenders.

Also, during the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces, about 47 square kilometers were liberated on the Bakhmut front.

Ukraine's armed forces continued powerfully destroying

On September 7, Ukrainian border guards raised the Ukrainian flag over the villages of Stroivka and Topoli in the Kharkiv region. The settlements are located in the so-called "gray zone" on the border with the Russian Federation.
