Russian forces shell Ukraine's Kherson region 52 times, injuring four civilians

On the night of July 5, Russian forces shelled Kherson city with artillery, injuring two people, local authorities report.

The city and its region have been suffering constant Russian strikes with various weapons since its liberation in the fall of 2022.

According to the head of the Kherson military administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, the enemies fired 52 times at the region over the past day. Russian troops used mortars, artillery, tanks, aircraft, and drones to terrorize civilians.

Russian shells hit residential areas, injuring four civilians.

After the successful liberation of the right bank of the Kherson region, Ukrainian forces slowly advance to the heavily fortified left bank of the territory, destroying Russian logistics and artillery clusters day by day. However, Russian troops use munitions supplied from further occupied regions, such as Crimea, to strike at peaceful towns.

On August 4, the Russian army shelled a town in the Kherson region with two guided aerial bombs. A 50-year-old man who was in his garden at the time of the attack was injured.

On the same day, Russian troops in the Kherson region also attacked Beryslav with a drone, injuring a local resident.

Just at the beginning of the month, Russian forces attacked a hospital in Kherson, killing a new local doctor who had just started his job and injuring his assistant. Overall, five people were wounded. Later, authorities reported a police officer was also killed in the shelling.
