After the so-called "presidential elections," Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is focused on a possible confrontation with Europe and NATO.

Vadym Skibitskyi, a Ukraine intelligence representative, reported this on the "Security Talks" program.

As Skibitskyi noted, Russia's approach to Ukraine has not changed. Primarily, Russian forces are seeking to fully occupy the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, as evidenced by their ongoing aggressive actions.

At the same time, after the farce called "elections" in Russia, the dictator will focus on continued aggressive policy.

"He has successfully completed this next phase of gaining direct control of power and will now focus on solving the issues related to Ukraine and beyond. This intense preparation for a potential confrontation with Europe, NATO, and the USA has already begun with the issuance of statements. From now on, all efforts will be directed towards this goal," the representative of Ukraine's intelligence said.

Rubryka reported that the Russian Federation held the so-called "presidential elections" on March 1517. As anticipated, Putin was declared the winner, securing his fifth presidential term.

For reference:

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin announced he would run for a new presidential term in 2024.

Putin was elected president of Russia in 2000, 2004, 2012, and 2018. Before the 2012 elections, in 2008, the presidential term was extended from 4 to 6 years.

After the amendments to the Russian Constitution were adopted in 2020, Putin received the right to nominate himself for the presidential elections 2024. Vladimir Putin has been in power for 21 years.

As Rubryka reported earlier, the leadership of Russia's Ministry of Defense has authorized military personnel involved in the Ukraine war to cast their vote in the presidential elections without physically going to polling stations. Additionally, the Russian forces planned to include deceased, missing, or captured individuals on the voting list.

It's worth noting that Lithuania's Director of the State Security Department, Darius Jauniškis, stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin aims to engage in a long-term confrontation with the West, with the possibility of incidents occurring on NATO territory. Jauniškis stressed that currently, there are no signs of any desire from Putin to resolve or end the war with Ukraine. He also warned that Russia is actively preparing for the confrontation with the West and has many tactics. One of their strategies includes reducing Western support for Ukraine through information and cyber operations, as well as nuclear threats.
