Ukraine's armed forces retreat to prepared western outskirts of Lastochkyne in Donetsk region

In the Avdiivka area of Donetsk, the Ukrainian defense forces pulled back to the western edge of Lastochkyne village.

The spokesman of the "Tavria" Operational and Strategic Grouping of Troops, Dmytro Lykhoviy, reported that, according to Hromadske.

As noted, the Ukrainian military withdrew, taking prepared defensive positions.

"Fierce battles are going on; the enemy is constantly using guided air bombs, artillery, FPV drones," Lykhoviy said.

It should be added that the day before, the monitoring platform DeepState announced that Russian troops had already occupied Lastochkyne.

Russian military Telegram channels also announced the capture of Lastochkyne. Stanislav Buniatov, a Ukrainian soldier of the 24th separate assault battalion "Aidar," reported that the Defense Forces withdrew from Lastochkyne to avoid blocking logical routes and preserving personnel. Ukrainian DeepState also wrote about it.

In turn, the General Staff of Ukraine's armed forces reported on the morning of February 25 that the Ukrainian military repulsed 14 attacks by the invaders in the areas of Lastochkyne, Sieverne, Pervomayske, and Nevelske settlements of the Donetsk region.

In total, the Russians carried out 2 airstrikes and 6 missile strikes, carried out 59 combat engagements, and fired 951 artillery shells in the operational area of the Tavria air defense missile defense system last day.

According to "Tavria," the total losses of Russian troops in human resources last day amounted to 284 people and 22 pieces of equipment, not including UAVs. In particular, Russian forces lost:

• Three tanks,
• Nine armored fighting vehicles,
• Four artillery systems,
• Six cars.
• Also, 212 UAVs of various types were neutralized or destroyed.

On February 17 it became known that the Ukrainian Defense Forces, in accordance with the order received from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi, left Avdiivka to pre-prepared positions. This was confirmed by the commander of the operational and strategic group of troops, "Tavria" Oleksandr Tarnavskyi.

It is worth adding that Lastochkyne is one of the settlements where the invaders began storming after Avdiivka.

Recently, the Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine's armed forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, made a trip to the forward command posts of military units and units in the areas of hostilities and stated about the "difficult situation in many directions": the enemy is storming the positions of Ukrainian soldiers and the situation on the battlefield requires constant monitoring.

It is worth reminding that on the Avdiivka front, the Russian invaders will have to take an operational pause before resuming offensive operations or transfer reinforcements from other areas of the front to prevent the culmination of operations near Avdiivka.

In addition, the Defense Forces eliminated more than 800 occupiers on the last day, so the total losses of Russian troops since the beginning of the full-scale invasion in human resources have already amounted to almost 410 thousand soldiers.
