On Monday night, Russian forces launched a drone attack on Ukrainian territory using Shahed kamikaze drones from the area of Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia).

Ukrainian air defenses successfully destroyed all threats, Rubryka reports, citing the Ukrainian Air Force.

"On the night of January 22, 2024, the enemy attacked with eight 'Shahed-136/131' unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) from the area of the Russian city of Primorsko-Akhtarsk. All eight 'Shaheds' were eliminated by anti-aircraft missile units and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and Defense Forces of Ukraine," the statement said.

The anti-aircraft defense was active within the territories of the southern Mykolaiv, Kherson, and central Dnipropetrovsk and Kirovohrad regions.

The head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper, also warned of the threat of combat drone attacks.

"Combat drones are heading our way! Residents and guests of the Odesa region, take cover! It's important!" Kiper said on Telegram.

Russians also increased the number of missile carriers in the Black Sea. The current level of missile threat is elevated.

According to military sources, a small missile ship has been added to the Russian frigate.

"The overall level of missile threat is increased. The joint outfitting of carriers includes up to 16 'Kalibr' missiles," said the Ukrainian forces.

Russian attacks on January 21

On January 21, temporarily occupied Donetsk came under fire. The market in the large residential micro-district "Tekstylnyk" was impacted. As a result, 18 people died; the Russian occupiers predictably blamed Ukrainian forces for the shelling.

The so-called head of the occupied Donetsk region claims that the market was attacked by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Sunday when many people were there. Ukrainian authorities and the military have not yet commented on the accusations by the Russians.

During the air raid alert, Kropyvnytskyi and Oleksandria in the Kirovohrad region were rocked by explosions.

Moreover, several explosions were reported in Poltava, and there was a ballistic threat in the region.

On Sunday, January 21, Russian forces shelled the town of Kurakhove in the Donetsk region. There are casualties and damage as a result of the strike.

Also, on January 21, in the Dnipropetrovsk region, Ukrainian defenders destroyed a guided Russian aviation missile.
