Ukraine moves missile production out of the country to protect it from Russian attacks

Part of the Ukrainian missile production was moved out of the country.

Oleksii Danilov, secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), said this in an interview with the Spanish newspaper ABC.

"Unfortunately, Russia struck the location where these missiles were being assembled, so we have moved a certain part of production outside our country," he said.

Danilov refused to discuss the Ukrainian missile program, noting that "this is a closed program, and no one will reveal its status."

In later August, the NSDC reported on successful tests of a Ukrainian-made cruise missile in the south of the Odesa region.

Danilov later reported that a new Ukrainian-made missile destroyed the Russian Triumph S-400 anti-aircraft missile system in occupied Crimea on August 23.

In September, Newsweek reported that Ukraine is adapting domestically produced Neptune anti-ship missiles for long-range strikes. Western experts came to these conclusions after Kyiv used its "absolutely modern" weapons in Crimea.

According to Danilov, Ukraine will most likely liberate Crimea by military means because Ukraine will have certain security guarantees only if the peninsula is de-occupied.

Ukraine's defense intelligence chief, Kyrylo Budanov, said that the Ukrainian forces can strike the enemy in any part of Crimea occupied by Russia. He recommends Russians and their collaborators leave the peninsula.
