Ukrainian forces advance on Bakhmut front, liberating 35 square kilometers of territory

After the successful offensive actions, the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated the area of 35 square meters on the Bakhmut front.

Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Maliar reported on the Telegram messaging app that the Russian forces continue to focus their primary efforts on the Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Maryinka directions, and heavy fighting continues.

In the northern Kupiansk direction, during the week, the Russians actively conducted assaults to push Ukrainian units beyond the barrier line of the Oskil River. They searched for weak points in the defense. The fighting continues, but the Armed Forces of Ukraine firmly hold their positions.

In the Liman area, the Russians continued assault operations to displace the Ukrainian armed forces in the Serebriansk Forest area. They led unsuccessful offensive actions east of Torske, Donetsk region. Fighting continues.

In the Bakhmut direction, the Armed Forces of Ukraine conducted successful offensive actions on the southern flank during the week; now, Ukrainian troops continue to gradually but confidently advance. The most brutal battles continue in Klishchiivka, Andriivka, and Kurdiumivka.

"A territory of 4 sq. km was liberated in the Bakhmut direction in a week. In total, the liberated area is 35 sq. km during the offensive in this direction," said Maliar.

In the Avdiivka, Maryinka, and Shakhtarsk directions, the Russians concentrated their primary efforts on conducting offensive actions to establish complete control over the settlement of Maryinka and covering the territory of Avdiivka without success.

In the south, the Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct an offensive operation in the southern Melitopol and Berdiansk directions. Namely, they ran offensive actions in the Novodanilivka, Verbove directions; Novodanilivka, Robotyne; Novodarivka, Priiutne; Mala Tokmachka, Verbove; Novosilka, Staromayorske.

"For a week, the liberated territory was increased by 12.7 sq. km with offensive actions in the south. In total, the liberated area in the south is 192.1 sq. km. The liberated area is 192.1 sq. km," Maliar said.
