France handed over equipment to gather evidence of Russian war crimes to Ukrainian prosecutors, the Prosecutor's Office press service reports.

What is the problem?

During the war, Russian invaders committed tens of thousands of war crimes.

The Prosecutor's Office noted that three teams of French investigators and experts have been working to research the heinous crimes committed in Bucha, Irpin, and Izium. Recently, specialists visited Dnipro and Kryvyi Rih to assist in conducting examinations and hosting training for their Ukrainian colleagues.

According to the Prosecutor General, Russian troops have already destroyed or damaged more than 110,000 civilian and infrastructure facilities.

What is the solution?

Prosecutor General Andrii Kostin met with Chargé d'Affaires of France in Ukraine Benjamin Roehrig and members of the French expert mission.

Kostin emphasized that Ukraine highly appreciates the support provided by France since the first days of the full-scale war, especially regarding restoring justice.

How does it work?

France has previously transferred two mobile DNA laboratories to Ukraine and continues to support Ukrainian specialists, as well as making a significant contribution to the work of the International Criminal Court.

The Prosecutor General also thanked for the new equipment, which is necessary for the investigation of war crimes committed by Russia.

The equipment handed over today will greatly help prosecutors and experts in documenting the consequences of attacks on Ukraine's civilian infrastructure, the press service emphasized.

Kostin also expressed his belief that "each such crime will be thoroughly investigated, and the perpetrators will be fairly punished."

Roehrig confirmed his readiness to continue supporting and working further to bring all those responsible to justice.

In May, Ukrainian law enforcement officers received a second French mobile DNA laboratory to work in the regions of active hostilities.
