In the coming weeks, Germany will provide Ukraine with new Gepard anti-aircraft defense systems and the IRIS-T air defense system. Berlin is also working on supplying additional ammunition.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced this on March 2, speaking in the Bundestag.

He assured that Germany would continue to provide military aid to Kyiv stably.

"putin continues to bet on a military victory. But this victory will not happen. Also, because our partners and we will continue to support Ukraine," the politician said.

From the rostrum of the German parliament, Scholz also addressed the opponents of military aid to Ukraine, saying that the German government never makes relevant decisions lightly and is based on the principle that NATO does not become a party to the conflict.

The chancellor also promised to develop the Bundeswehr and put an end to the disdain for the German army.

The day before, German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock warned China against military aid to russia. She stated that supplying drones to an aggressor country would be a violation of international law.
