France will donate equipment worth 415 million euros to Ukraine, which will help recover the energy sector since about 50% of Ukraine's energy infrastructure was damaged by russian missile and kamikaze drone attacks.

Rubryka reports, referring to the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.

Minister of Energy Herman Halushchenko took part in a discussion panel within Ukraine's Economic Stability and Reconstruction Forum, which took place in Paris, the department reported.

"I am grateful to the countries and companies that have been helping Ukraine since the beginning of the war. The equipment support for 415 million euros, which France will provide to Ukraine, will greatly help the recovery of the Ukrainian energy sector," Halushchenko emphasized.

According to the minister, Ukraine's needs are increasing weekly due to constant russian attacks. The most needed is high-voltage equipment, but there is also a need for other equipment and spare parts to repair networks.

The minister also noted that the Ukrainian energy industry currently needs gas turbine and gas piston power units, which will help ensure the stable operation of the energy system.

Damage to Ukraine's energy system

russia has been attacking the country's energy facilities for over two months. Ukraine's energy infrastructure was damaged due to large-scale russian missile attacks on October 10, 11, 17, and 31, November 11, 15, 23, and December 5.

Targeted russian strikes on infrastructure resulted in damage to all thermal and hydropower plants and more than 40% of high-voltage network facilities.

After the latest attack, the Ukrenergo energy company again began to introduce emergency power outages in all regions of Ukraine, even though a return to scheduled schedules was predicted from December 5.

On December 14, russian troops again attacked Kyiv and the region with kamikaze drones. Thanks to the successful work of air defense, all 13 drones were destroyed.

The company noted that none of the energy facilities were damaged during this attack.
