Today is June 2. russia's military attack on Ukraine has been going on for 99 days. We're reporting on the current news. The article will be updated.

What about today?

Key points

After seeing the Kremlin's hysteria about the US HIMARS missile systems provided to us, we were given what we needed. NATO has said it's not intimidated by russia's threats to retaliate against the United States, and the alliance doesn't see the possibility. Ukraine, in turn, has promised not to use American missiles to strike at russia, but not at russian troops on our territory. After all, Crimea and Donetsk region with Luhansk region is Ukraine, so as occupied Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions are Ukraine. Therefore, using the latest powerful weapons, the Ukrainian army will violate no agreements with the White House.

The United Kingdom also spoke about missile systems for Ukraine. It intends to transfer MLRS M270 to Ukraine. The M270 system as an MLRS can hit targets at a distance of up to 70 kilometers. It first requires permission from the United States as a producer country. Johnson has held talks with Biden on the issue, and Ukraine can look forward to a "green light" from the United States.

While weapons from the allies overcome the difficult path to Ukraine, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are beating the enemy with what's available. Ukrainian defenders of the Joint Forces repulsed thirteen attacks by the invaders in one day. In the East, the Armed Forces soldiers destroyed:

  • two tanks;
  • six artillery systems;
  • eight armored combat vehicles;
  • four enemy cars.
  • and shot down seven Orlan-10 drones.

In the last 24 hours, the Ukrainian military in the south of Ukraine destroyed:

  • 21 ruscists;
  • one anti-aircraft and one self-propelled artillery unit;
  • four T-72 tanks;
  • four armored and three motor vehicles;
  • three UAVs;
  • three munitions points;
  • two high-speed landing craft hid by the occupiers in the Dnieper-Buh estuary.

Moreover, the Ministry of Defense confirms that our soldiers managed to liberate several settlements in the Kherson region. "Thanks to the active and decisive actions of the Ukrainian forces, we managed to de-occupy several settlements," said Defense Ministry spokesperson Oleksandr Motuzyanyk on a telethon. However, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense didn't name the number of settlements that the Armed Forces liberated from the occupiers and didn't give details. "We have success, but time will pass, and we will be able to talk about it more," he added.

Earlier, the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Hennadii Lahuta, reported the liberation of more than 20 settlements.
