Ukraine's intelligence exposes new large-scale cyber warfare attacks on Russia, resulting in huge financial losses

During the week from March 11 to 18 this year, Ukrainian spies and activists carried out several cyber attacks on Russian facilities.

Ukraine's intelligence reported that.

It was reported that both the Russian government and private entities that contribute to the state budget and fund the war against Ukraine were targeted.

In particular, for the past week:

• the resources of PJSC "Rostelek" were attacked – the communication equipment of the Transbaikal and Krasnoyarsk regions of Russia was disabled;
• gained access to the electronic document management system of the authorities of the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation and carried out fake mailings to 12,000 local officials;
• the communication equipment of "Belznak" LLC was attacked and disabled;
• the information resources of the municipal budgetary institution of the Starooskol city multi-branch industrial association of the communal economy were attacked and destroyed;
• the infrastructure of JSC "Tommoloko" was attacked and destroyed;
• captured and destroyed the server infrastructure along with backup copies of the hosting provider 1Gb.ru and tens of thousands of websites it served;
• more than 40 Mikrotik network devices (auto-electric transport control center) in Novosibirsk were disabled.

The Ministry of Defense's Main Directorate of Intelligence added that the damages caused by these cyberattacks can be calculated by "hundreds of thousands of dollars."

As previously reported by Rubryka, cyber specialists of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine implemented another successful special operation against the aggressor state of Russia. As a result of a DDoS attack, it was possible to gain access to the servers of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

Thanks to the successful operation of the Main Directorate of Intelligence, the Ukrainian special service has software for information protection and encryption, which was used by the Russian defense ministry, as well as an array of secret official documents of the Russian "war ministry."
