Russian troops launch artillery attack on Toretsk in Donetsk region, killing one and injuring two

Today, February 4, the enemy army shelled Toretsk, Donetsk region. One person died, two were injured.

The head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Vadym Filashkin, the Donetsk regional prosecutor's office reported this.

At about 1:00 PM, the Russians bombarded Toretsk with artillery, targeting a residential building.

"At least one person died, and two were injured as a result of today's shelling of Toretsk," Filashkin stated.

According to the head of the regional military administration, the wounded were taken to the nearest hospital for medical assistance.

As noted in the regional prosecutor's office, the enemy attacked the city on February 4, around 1:00 p.m., shelling the residential sector.

"As a result of an attack by the occupiers, probably with the use of artillery, a 58-year-old resident died on one of the streets, right in the middle of the road," the message reads.

According to the department, two more townspeople were injured: a 41-year-old man and a woman who were near an apartment building were taken to a hospital – they were diagnosed with shrapnel wounds to their limbs.

Under the procedural leadership of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation is being conducted in criminal proceedings for violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

During the past day, February 3, the occupiers shelled populated areas of Donetsk region 12 times.

A person was injured in Maksimilianivka. In the Kurakhivska community, two high-rise buildings and an administrative building were damaged. An enterprise was damaged in Pokrovsk.

Russian troops are constantly shelling Toretsk. So, on November 28, 2023, Russian troops struck a mine in Toretsk from aviation. As a result of the enemy attack, four female workers who were in one of the workshops were injured. Later, the number of wounded increased to five.

In just two days, on November 30, Russian troops wounded three residents of Toretsk who were waiting for a "humanitarian." The occupiers shelled the city with a mortar.

On December 21, 2023, the Russian army dropped two aerial bombs on Toretsk. Three people died, and six more were injured.
