Russian rockets strike residential building in Kharkiv: three civilians killed, 30 injured

In the early hours of Tuesday, Russian forces launched missile strikes on the northeastern city of Kharkiv.

Three people have been reported dead, and 28 others are injured, Rubryka reports, citing the local authorities and police.

According to the Investigative Department Chief of the Kharkiv National Police, Serhii Bolvinov, the strikes caused fires and damaged gas pipelines.

"Series of explosions on the city and the region. Children are injured," he stated.

In another area, a sanatorium school for sick children was destroyed by the Russians. One of the rockets hit a gas pipeline. All emergency services have been working on the scene.

Another Russian attack targeted a health camp in Balaklia, reportedly using two S-300 missiles, according to Bolvinov.

Meanwhile, according to Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov, the morning shelling completely destroyed the entrance to a multi-story residential building. Rescue teams are working to clear the rubble to locate people underneath.

There is no electricity in one of the most affected parts of the Kyivskyi district. The water supply is partially disrupted. Relevant services are working to address the consequences of the Russian strikes.

The head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, reported that as of 8:20 a.m. on Tuesday, two people are known to have been killed in a missile strike on a residential building in the Kyivskyi district of Kharkiv.

"Around 4:00 and 7:20, the occupiers struck the Kyivskyi and Saltivka districts of Kharkiv multiple times. Preliminary reports suggest Kh-22 missiles were used for the attack," said the head of the administration. "Two women have died as a result of the strikes, with a minimum of 13 people injured. The data is being updated. Multi-story residential buildings and educational institutions are destroyed." 

On the national telethon, Terekhov reported the updated casualties toll: three dead and 28 injured, stressing that the Russian forces targeted exclusively civilian infrastructure, causing destruction to residential buildings and civilian vehicles. He condemned it as another act of terrorism.

UPD: According to Syniehubov, the number of injured in Kharkiv increased to 42 people. Among them are four children, and their condition is of medium severity.

In related news, Russia launched a massive missile attack on Kyiv. In the Sviatoshinsky district, fires were reported in apartments and cars near a kindergarten in the Sviatoshynskyi and Solomianskyi districts. So far, 18 people have been injured, with 13 of them being hospitalized, including three children.
