British intelligence confirms record Russian army losses due to assault on Avdiivka

In November of this year, record losses in the Russian army were caused by the offensive on Avdiivka. The figures of the Ukrainian General Staff are close to the data of British intelligence.

The British Ministry of Defense reported that on Twitter.

As noted in the summary, losses in the Russian army during November, according to the Ukrainian General Staff, amount to an average of 931 people per day.

Previously, the deadliest month for Russia was March 2023, with an average of 776 deaths per day, at the height of the Russian offensive on Bakhmut.

"Although military intelligence cannot verify the methodology, given the total number of killed and wounded, the numbers are entirely plausible," the statement said.

The past six weeks have seen one of the highest Russian casualties of the entire war.

"Heavy losses were largely caused by Russia's attack on the Donbas city of Avdiivka," the British Ministry of Defense notes.

For reference:

According to the military command, the enemy and air support continue to attempt to encircle Avdiivka in the Tavria military command's area of responsibility on the Avdiivka front. However, Ukrainian soldiers are holding their defense firmly and inflicting significant losses on the invading forces. The enemy's assaults east of Novobakhmutivka, south of Novokalynovy, Severne, Stepove, Avdiivka, and Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region have been unsuccessful, as the defending forces successfully repelled 30 attacks.

According to the General Staff of Ukraine's armed forces, Russia's losses in the war against Ukraine on the last day amounted to 750 people; the total number of casualties since the beginning of the invasion has reached 325,580 people.

As The Guardian reported, according to Western officials, Russia's losses in the war against Ukraine amount to 300,000 to 400,000 killed and wounded, and in the fiercest battles near Avdiivka, it loses 500 to 1,000 people a day.

It should be noted that the Russian army, starting from the beginning of October, has been trying to capture the city of Avdiivka in the Donetsk region for more than a month. The enemy has recently shelled the Avdiivka coke plant and the city's infrastructure.

British intelligence noted earlier that the Russian army suffered heavy losses near Avdiivka, but there was no progress in three areas of the front.

It was also reported that the Russian occupiers were beginning to surrender in the Donetsk region near Avdiivka.
