Russian drones attack Ukraine's critical infrastructure overnight: 18 of 20 threats downed

On Wednesday night, November 1, the Russian army attacked several Ukrainian regions with 20 kamikaze drones and a Kh-59 missile.

Ukrainian air defense forces downed most of the drones and a missile, Rubryka reports, referring to the statement of the Ukrainian Air Force.

According to the military, the Kh-59 missile and part of the Shahed drones were launched from Russia's Kursk Oblast. The rest of the Russian strike drones attacked from the south-eastern direction — Primorsky-Akhtarsk in Russia.

The Ukrainian airmen said that the attack drones were destroyed along the route of their tracking.

Tactical aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, mobile fire groups of the Air Force, and Air Defense Forces collaborated in the operation to down Russian kamikaze drones.

"18 out of 20 Shahed-136/131 attack drones were shot down. A Kh-59 guided air missile was also destroyed," the Air Force said.

The military added that the Russian forces targeted critical infrastructure and military facilities.

Rubryka reported that the Russians launched air strikes on Ukraine on the night of October 30, using 12 Shahed UAVs and two Kh-59 guided air missiles to attack Ukraine. All of the threats were destroyed.

As of 23:15, the Air Force warned Ukrainians about the threat of kamikaze drones. Russian forces launched Shaheds from the south, north, and east.

The Air Force alerted about UAVs near Kremenchuk, as well as in Mykolaiv region, Kherson region, and Vinnytsia region (in the western direction).

The head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Military Administration, Serhii Tyurin, reported on the explosions and the work of the air defense in the Khmelnytskyi district.

On the evening of October 31, an air alert signal was announced in Kyiv and the region. The airmen warned about Russians using ballistic weapons.

Around 5 a.m., the air raid ended throughout Ukraine. During the mass air raid in Kremenchuk, the Russians hit an oil refinery with a Shahed drone, resulting in a fire.
