35 people, including children, considered missing after Kakhovka Dam destruction

Thirty-five people are considered missing due to the Russian invaders blowing up the Kakhovka HPP; among them are children.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that on Telegram.

As the law enforcement officers reported, 35 people, including seven children, are considered missing in the Kherson region. In addition, at this time, the death of 5 people was confirmed.

The agency emphasizes that 46 settlements were flooded in the Kherson region as of 1:00 p.m. on June 11, including:

  • 32 – on the territory controlled by Ukraine,
  • 14 – on temporarily occupied territories.

Currently, 2,718 people have already been evacuated, including 190 children.

The law enforcement officers also emphasized that 31 settlements were flooded in the Mykolaiv region. Nine hundred eighty-two people, including 167 children, were evacuated.

More than 180,000 animals, including 160,000 birds and over 20,000 wild animals, were threatened with extermination due to the destruction of the Kakhovka HPP caused by the Russians.

According to the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Mykola Solskyi, farmers will not be able to fully use 1-1.5 million hectares of agricultural land due to the explosion of the Kakhovka HPP.

It should be noted that in the occupied city of Oleshky, the death of 9 people due to flooding was confirmed.

In addition, a person also died in the Mykolaiv region due to flooding after the explosion of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station.

According to Ukrhydroenergo, the water level in the Dnipro River in Kherson is 4.18 meters. During the day, the indicator decreased by 54 cm.
