Spain to announce new military aid package to Ukraine

Spain will announce new military aid to Ukraine on Friday.
The supply of air and naval defense equipment is expected, the state's defense minister Margarita Robles reports.
At the meeting in the Rammstein format, Robles will confirm the continuity of Spanish support confirm the humanitarian and medical aid measures that the defense ministry keeps providing.
"(The Minister of Defense, – ed.) will announce that in the near future new batches of aid will be sent to meet the priority needs expressed by Minister Oleksii Reznikov during his visit to Madrid on April 12, the statement says.
The new supplies are aimed at strengthening the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the following areas:
- mobility, preservation, and protection of ground forces,
- air defense,
- defense and design of naval and amphibious forces.
"The latter is considered key to ensuring the safety of the "green" sea route, which enables the export of Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea. It is necessary to support the UN World Food Program and provide aid to the African and Asian countries most affected by hunger, the message adds.
Spain has started its transfer of Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine. The vehicles will be at Ukraine's battlefield in late April.
