Death toll rises to 12 after Slovyansk missile attack on Friday

In Slovyansk, the Donetsk region, the body of a man has been recovered from the rubble of a residential building that was hit in a Russian missile attack on April 14.

He is now the 12th victim of the strike, State Emergency Service reports.

The work is ongoing. According to the National Police, there may be three more people under the rubble, the statement says.

As of 13:30 on Sunday, April 16, 12 people were killed and 22 others injured in Russia's shelling of Sloviansk.

On April 14,  the Russians attacked Slovyansk with long-range missiles, hitting several apartment blocks and a school. That day, neighboring towns of Bakhmut and Kostiantynivka were under the shelling.

On the eve of Orthodox Easter, Russian forces shelled the southern Mykolaiv region, killing two teenagers. The invaders destroyed a local church in the Zaporizhzhia region. Luckily, no casualties were reported.
