Pentagon head believes Ukrainian Armed Forces have changed war dynamics

The Armed Forces of Ukraine, with the support of weapons provided by the West, changed the war dynamics

The Secretary of Defense of the United States, Lloyd Austin, stated this, opening the meeting in the Ramstein format on Wednesday in Brussels, the EP correspondent reports.

It should be noted that on October 12, the ministers of defense of the allied countries gathered at the regular Ramstein meeting. The Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksii Reznikov, is also present there.

Reznikov will take part in the meeting of NATO defense ministers.

"putin is trying to mobilize more forces and declare that the sovereign territories of Ukraine belong to russia.

He attacks civilian targets and infrastructure in Ukrainian cities. He uses irresponsible threats and rhetoric," Austin emphasized.

However, as the head of the Pentagon noted, the Ukrainian troops repeatedly demonstrated a change in the situation on the battlefield thanks to the weapons provided by their partners.

"When we met in September, we all watched as Ukraine made extraordinary gains on the battlefield. Despite putin's new attacks, Ukrainian forces have changed the dynamics of this war.

They liberated hundreds of towns from russian occupation and returned thousands of square kilometers of their land. These victories belong to Ukrainian soldiers.

However, contact group security assistance, training, and support efforts were vital. We have made tremendous progress working together, and as the war has changed, so has the mission of this contact group," the Pentagon chief noted.

Austin emphasized that russia's attacks only strengthened the allies' determination to help Ukraine.

In addition to the group meeting in the Ramstein format, a meeting of defense ministers of NATO countries will also be held in Brussels.

As Rubryka wrote, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg emphasized that strengthening Ukraine's air defense will be the top priority of the meeting.

The General Staff reported that the russian army lost about 270 soldiers, 20 cruise missiles, and 15 UAVs over the past day.
