Explosions reported on another russian airbase in occupied Crimea

The media says that there are plumes of black smoke over the military air base in the village of Hvardiiske in the Simferopol district of Crimea. Residents reported this.

According to residents, several explosions were heard earlier on the territory of the military facility.

The source says military departments and law enforcement agencies are checking the version with an attack by a small unmanned aerial vehicle on an ammunition warehouse.

We will remind you that on the morning of August 16, explosions rang out in the temporarily occupied Crimea. An ammunition depot was detonated in the Dzhankoi district.

According to local media, two incidents occurred in the area at once:

  • fire at the transformer substation in Dzhankoi,
  • detonation at the ammunition warehouse in the village of Maiske.

Also, russia's defense ministry confirmed that in the area of ​​the village of Maiske, Dzhankoi district, in the temporarily occupied Crimea, there was a fire at an ammunition site.

On August 9, explosions sounded at the military airfield in Novofedorivka, Crimea. Residents of Crimea posted videos on social media that showed at least two epicenters of the fire. They also said that they heard from 7 to 12 explosions.

The so-called "leader of Crimea," Sergey Aksyonov, reported that one person died and six others were injured due to the explosions.

russia's defense ministry stated that the detonation of several aircraft shells caused the fire at the Saki air base. Later, a source of the russian military department told TASS about the violation of fire safety requirements at the airfield near Novofedorivka.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine stated that it could not establish the cause of the fire in Novofedorivka.

The New York Times, citing a "senior Ukrainian military official," wrote that Ukrainian forces were allegedly behind the explosions at the airbase in occupied Crimea.
