russia's defense ministry deny airbase shelling in Crimea

The Ministry of Defense of russia claims that no one struck the airfield in Crimea, and it simply was ammunition detonation

RIA Novosti reported it on Telegram.

"Around 3:20 p.m. on the territory of Saky airbase in settlement of Novofedorivka, several aviation munitions detonated on a dispersal bay. Measures are being taken to extinguish the fire and find the causes of the explosion. According to the report from the scene, there was no fire impact on the dispersal bay. There was no ammunition at the airfield," the message states.

The Ministry of Defense assures that no one was injured due to the explosion and that the aviation equipment at the airbase was not damaged.

The well-known russian propagandist Margarita Simonyan also commented on the situation. She wrote in Telegram that the explosions at the military airfield in Crimea could be sabotage or even someone's stupidity.

"On the spot, they believe it's not shelling but a diversion. And even that's nonsense," she said.
