We'll surprise russians on battlefield: Ukraine's ambassador on US weapons for Ukrainian army

Ukraine is discussing with the United States the capabilities for supplying new types of weapons

Ukraine's Ambassador to the USA, Oksana Markarova, stated this in an interview with Radio Svoboda.

When asked whether the authorities are discussing the chances of providing Ukraine with missiles with a 300-km firing range, she replied that Ukraine was using all its capabilities to achieve this.

"From the beginning of this war phase, all Ukraine's requests are aimed not only at what we need right now on the battlefield.

But we also consider our plans and our understanding of what we will need in the future.

I will not go into details here. As we say, we would rather surprise the russians with something on the battlefield, but we are discussing all capabilities," the ambassador said.

She added that the Ukrainian side at all levels was constantly working to increase the number of weapons and obtain new types of weapons.

"Both the Minister of Defense and General Zaluzhny are very active at their level. We and the embassy's military attaché work very actively on it almost daily to increase the amount of what we already receive and obtain new capabilities.

It is the number one priority that both President Zelensky and [Foreign] Minister Kuleba put before all diplomats. Therefore, more in terms of quantity and quality is a priority that we are constantly working on," Markarova assured.

Markarova said that Ukraine reported to its partners how it uses the money and weapons.

"I'm involved in all communications. I can't reveal all of them, but I don't remember the level of cooperation, understanding, and mutual transparency we have now.

There's not a day that we don't exchange information, including from our side," the diplomat said.

As Rubryka reported, the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, discussed with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley, the latest situation on the eve of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting.

Zaluzhnyi informed Milley that the timely arrival of M142 HIMARS, delivering targeted strikes on enemy control posts, ammunition, and fuel storage depots, helped to stabilize the situation at the front, which is tense but entirely under control.
