"We must never allow this": Kuleba calls the only possibility for the final loss of Crimea
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs presented an exhibition on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the Crimean Tatar people's deportation. It combines two art projects that show the history of Crimea before and after the deportation in 1944.
Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba was present at the opening. He said that what Russia was doing with Crimea, the occupation of the peninsula in 2014, was very similar to what happened in 1944, Ukraine 24 reports.
"Today's temporary occupation of Crimea is a continuation of the policy that stretches from the Russian Empire. From the conquest of Crimea, when the biggest wave of migration of Crimean Tatars took place, to Stalin's repressions against Crimean Tatars, to the attempt to turn Crimea into Russian territory. Crimea will be finally lost only when we forget about it and accept the occupation. We must never allow this," the minister said.
Representatives of the clergy and the Crimean Tatar people were also present at the opening. Mustafa Dzhemilev stated that Crimea would definitely return to the Ukrainian borders.
"When it happens depends on many factors. First, on Ukraine's determination itself," he said.
The exhibition will last several months, and the Foreign Minister promised to bring all ambassadors and other foreign guests to it.
