German Chancellor Angela Merkel joined the meeting between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi and President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron via video.

Ukrinform reports referring to its own sources.

We know that the conversation between Zelenskyi and Macron has dragged on longer than expected.

"President Zelenskyi's tête-à-tête meeting with Emmanuel Macron lasted longer than planned. The presidents even ignored the expanded talks. It's a good sign for the relations between the two leaders, as it gives them more space to discuss important issues," the agency's source said.

Now, according to the source, a meeting is underway, joined by Chancellor Angela Merkel in a videoconference.

To recap, Zelenskyi and his wife are on a working visit to France on April 16.

France has stated it sees Zelenskyi's upcoming visit as very important.

A meeting behind closed doors is currently underway between Zelenskyi and Macron.
