The United Kingdom, Canada, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United States will set up a Partnership for a Strong Ukraine Foundation.

The British Embassy in Ukraine announced this on Facebook, Rubryka reports.

On Tuesday in Kyiv, British Foreign Secretary Wendy Morton announced the creation of a new Partnership for a Strong Ukraine Foundation.

It is noted that the United Kingdom, Canada, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United States "will help mitigate Russia's destabilizing influence in the southern and eastern regions of Ukraine."

The fund will begin operating by December 2021 and aims to raise up to £35 million from donors over three years.

"Funding will go to initiatives that strengthen the capacity of conflict-affected regions, such as providing technical advice to the government or providing grant investments that create economic opportunities and improve access to public services for residents of southern and eastern Ukraine. This should lead to improving the quality of public services, increasing household incomes, and strengthening ties between communities divided by the conflict," the statement said.
