Since the beginning of this year, the total explosive power of Russia's air strikes against Ukraine has already exceeded 9,000 tons.

Ukraine's Defense Minister Rustem Umerov stated that at an extraordinary meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council.

On March 28, a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council at the ambassadorial level was held against the backdrop of recent massive Russian attacks on Ukraine's critical infrastructure.

During the meeting, Umerov informed the Allies about the consequences of terrorist attacks and the response measures taken by Ukraine.

The minister called on NATO member states to provide Ukraine with additional air and missile defense systems and missiles.

The meeting also focused on Russia's recent massive air strikes.

"Only 3% of Russian missiles, drones and guided bombs hit military targets, while 97% hit civilian infrastructure."

Umerov cited data from the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights that Russian shelling caused 712 of the 1,804 civilian casualties in Ukraine over the past three months.

The Ukrainian side provided the participants of today's meeting of the Council with a "deep overview" of the urgent needs of the state's air defense.
