Last year, the Shelter and Non-Food Item (SNFI) Cluster assisted 60,000 residents of the eastern Kharkiv region in restoring their homes.

The assistance included construction material kits and firewood for heating during the winter season, Rubryka reports.

This year, it plans to expand the scope of assistance, as was discussed during a meeting between the head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, Oleh Synuehubov, a delegation from the UN Refugee Agency, and representatives of the SNFI Cluster.

"We appreciate the attention to the needs of the residents of Kharkiv region and the assistance provided by all international organizations. Together, we must promptly address the consequences of enemy attacks on our citizens' homes," said the head of the Kharkiv region.

In addition to housing assistance, the Cluster plans to open a hub in Kharkiv to strengthen its operations.

The organization is expanding its presence in Ukraine, operating four hubs nationwide. The "Eastern" hub is currently based in Dnipro, but the cluster plans to open another one in Kharkiv. Its launch is scheduled for June.

"We hope for enhanced cooperation with the regional administration and community leaders to effectively distribute resources and assistance to civilians," said John Francis Wayne, coordinator of the Shelter and Non-Food Items Cluster.

Syniehubov also emphasized that civilians from the front-line Kupiansk area were being evacuated.

"We need a rapid restoration of compact settlement areas," he said.

Two outpatient clinics of the Primary Health Care Center of the Derhachi City Council, which suffered significant damage due to heavy shelling by Russian forces, have been restored.

The Ministry of Health and partners are also working to restore medical facilities to ensure medical assistance is available to everyone.
