Enemy troops increased offensive activity along the entire front line, suffering more losses.

The British Ministry of Defense reported this on the X social network with reference to intelligence data.

As noted, according to the data of the General Staff of Ukraine's armed forces from January 19, the number of shelling of Russia on the front line increased by 27% compared to the previous day.

Additional data from the General Staff, which compares the period of January 14-18, 2024, with the previous five-day period of January 2024, also confirms the increase in the number of shelling.

According to analysts, during this period, the number of losses increased:

  • Russian military equipment by 88%,
  • tanks – by 95%,
  • losses in human resources in the Russian army during this period increased by 15%.

"These data indicate a steady increase in the intensity of Russian offensive activity along the entire front during the past two weeks. A key factor contributing to this is most likely the freezing of the ground, which allows armored vehicles to move over rough terrain," the summary says.

As Rubryka reported, the Defense Forces of Ukraine, from February 24, 2022, to January 21, 2024, eliminated about 376,030 Russian invaders, including 760 people on the last day.

It should be noted that the ISW announced that in the Kharkiv region, Russian troops captured the village of Krokhmalne.

The Armed Forces commented on ISW's statement about the capture of Krokhmalne in the Kharkiv region:

"In the Kupiansk district of the Kharkiv region, the capture of Krokhmalne by the occupation forces is a temporary phenomenon, but for Russia, this situation allows us to justify the loss of more than 7 thousand soldiers since the beginning of the year," Volodymyr Fityo, the head of the public relations service of the Ground Forces Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, commented on the situation.

The spokesman added that, accordingly, our primary goal is to protect the lives of Ukrainian defenders. Therefore, their positions were moved to reserve positions prepared so far, where they now hold the defense.

For reference:

It is worth noting that as of January 12, the number of Russian troops on the territory of Ukraine is 462,000. 35,000 servicemen of the Russian Guard in Ukraine ensure the work of the occupation regime.
