Solutions to win: Frontline.Care volunteers release comics to fund drones for Ukrainian army
The Frontline.Care volunteer community and illustrators released the Koshmary (Nightmares) charity comic book.
The proceeds from the sale will go towards funding four Mara reconnaissance drones, Rubryka reports.
What is the problem?
Aerial reconnaissance officers are the eyes and ears of the army. In times of war, their talents and professional skills to remain invisible to the enemy are invaluable. Information obtained often from the front line can change the course of an important operation. Their activities at the front usually prefer silence and efficiency.
They are constantly in danger, so it is very important that the fighters have such provisions that would save their lives as much as possible. The most important thing is high-quality reconnaissance drones and suitable transport. Voluntary organizations are actively involved in the provision of UAVs necessary for reconnaissance.
What is the solution?
Frontline.Care volunteers and the illustrators decided to launch the charity comic, which will be raffled off. The proceeds from the sale will be used to purchase four Mara reconnaissance drones.
How does it work?
Illustrators Venia Son, Echomateriya, Maksym Moshkovskyi, Anton Abo, Oles Dereha, Maria Sypalova, Roman Ruban, studio "Seri/Graf," Andrii Yermolenko and Olha Hyschak joined forces to create the comic book.
The organizers say that each of the authors created their own version of the comic, unrelated to each other in terms of plot. They are united only by the work of the Mara drones, which "gives Russia nightmares."
The first of 10 comics has already been published. Later, other works will be posted on the Koshmary website until the fundraiser of ₴5.2 million ($140,662) is closed.
Anyone can take part in the raffle of a comic book if one donates ₴300 ($8) or more. You can get a guaranteed comic for a donation of ₴10,000 ($270).
Background
Frontline.Care is a volunteer initiative founded in April 2022 by IT, communications, and public sector professionals. During the year, volunteers handed over equipment, means of communication, attack drones, and tactical medicine worth more than ₴18 million ($4,86 million) for units of the Armed Forces and special forces.
Mara is a Ukrainian-made reconnaissance aircraft complex. Its drones can operate at low altitudes and in gusty winds of 20 meters per second. The total weight of the complex is about 20 kg: two drones with a ground control station and an antenna are placed in a suitcase.
