Ukraine's intelligence chief: Russia destroyed only 20% of Ukraine's aviation in first days of invasion

Russian aggressors managed to target around 20% of Ukraine's planned military aviation facilities during the initial days of open warfare.

The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, reported on this in the film "Downed Russian Pilots."

"They actually hit about 20% of the targets they wanted. That's what prevented [Russia's – ed.] total air dominance And the fact that they didn't manage to destroy most of the air defense systems nullified their dominance in aircraft classes and numbers of the air force", Budanov said.

He said the Air Force was aware of the attack and managed to redeploy, so the Russians didn't accomplish what they had set out to do.

Recently, Budanov said that on August 30, drones launched from the territory of Russia attacked the air base in Pskov. Two Il-76 transport planes were destroyed during this attack, and two more were heavily damaged.

For reference:

Rubryka wrote that drones attacked the airfield in the Russian city of Pskov. As a result of the drone attack on the military airfield, four Il-76 aircraft were damaged.

In addition, on the night of August 30, one of the largest attacks by unmanned aerial vehicles took place in the Russian Federation.
