During his visit to Ukraine, the Prime Minister of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, who is also the Minister of Foreign Affairs, announced the allocation of 100 million dollars to overcome the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.

The Prime Minister of Qatar, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, stated this at a joint briefing with his Ukrainian counterpart Denys Shmyhal in Kyiv.

"Our head of state is ready to allocate money and has already allocated 100 million dollars to overcome the ongoing crisis. It is assumed that the money can be spent on rebuilding the destroyed infrastructure and providing drinking water to people in the affected regions," he said.

For his part, the Prime Minister of Ukraine thanked his colleague for the humanitarian support and clarified that, among other things, the money will be directed to recovery in medical care and education, humanitarian demining, and other humanitarian projects.

Al Thani stated that Qatar is prepared to furnish every necessary resource to solve the human rights problem in Ukraine or eradicate it entirely. According to him, Qatar will assist those who were forced to leave the occupied territories.

The government official also announced that Qatar is allocating 20 million dollars as part of a new agreement under which African countries can receive the necessary amount of food, and also allocates 50 scholarships for Ukrainians to study at Qatari universities.

Also, during the meeting, it was agreed to form other specialized working groups and commissions to work on issues in various areas: from high technologies and digitalization to the supply of drinking water in those regions of Ukraine where it is needed.

"We agreed to cooperate closely within the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Trade, and Technical Cooperation framework," Shmyhal said.

As a reminder, Olena Zelenska, the first lady of Ukraine, visited the National Museum of Qatar, where, on her initiative, a Memorandum was signed on the introduction of the first Ukrainian-language audio guide on the territory of this country.

As reported, Ukraine received six more Gepard installations and thousands of ammunition from Germany.
