At least five people have died, and nearly a dozen others have been injured in a Russian attack on a school building in Orikhiv, the Zaporizhzhia region, Yurii Malashko, head of the city's military administration, says.

The death toll rose to five after another body was pulled from the rubble by rescuers, he said.

Just as we were clearing the rubble, we had another shelling of Orikhiv, and a guided aerial bomb was dropped near the place where the rubble is being cleared, Malashko said.

On Monday, July 10, Russians struck the frontline town of Orikhiv, Zaporizhzhia region. It was previously reported that four people were killed on the spot.

Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that three people may still be under the rubble. Rescuers continue to carry out rescue operations to find the people.

Part of the south-eastern Zaporizhzhia region remains occupied by Russian troops since the large-scale invasion. Having occupied Enerhodar near the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant, Russians are also shelling several settlements in the Dnipropetrovsk region, namely Nikopol and Marhanets.

Orikhiv and Gulyaypole are towns most often under Russian attacks. For example, on April 11, the Russian occupiers attacked Gulyaypole in the Zaporizhzhia region with an air-guided missile.
