The situation in Bakhmut, the Donetsk region, remains very tense, according to Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar.
"The enemy is attempting to involve not only Wagner mercenaries, but also professional units of paratroopers." she noted.
Excessively high losses in personnel do not stop the enemy. Their decisions are emotional.
"Our defenders have to stop the advance of the enemy in difficult conditions," Maliar reports.
Every Ukrainian military decision and every step is well considered. The Khortytsia operational and strategic group works in the combat zone and fully controls the operational situation on the spot.
"The response to the current situation is carried out competently, taking into account all circumstances, tasks and the principle of military expediency." she added.
According to the Institute for the Study of War, as of March 31, Ukrainian troops regained positions around Bakhmut.
