The customs system of Türkiye suddenly began to block the clearance of sanctioned goods to russia.

The transit of "parallel import" goods stopped, russian media "Kommersant" reports.

This move was surprising to market participants. They are currently rushing to find alternative ways of importing sanctioned goods to russia.

"Yesterday, we started receiving messages from agents that previously agreed flight bookings are being canceled. They said that the reason is that cargo transiting for Turkey is no longer being sent to russia.

Yesterday evening, they started receiving letters that the customs system of Turkey blocks the transit clearance of goods of non-Turkish origin. This morning, they tried to issue it again, but the system is really blocking everything," said Georgy Vlastopulo, CEO of one of the russian logistics companies.

Some interlocutors of the publication associate the stoppage of the transit of sanctioned goods with the recent visit to Turkey by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.

In addition, the publication writes that the United Arab Emirates, which has become the center of supplying electronics to russia, is also under pressure.

russia manages to circumvent EU and G7 sanctions to obtain critical semiconductors and other technologies to continue the war in Ukraine. Modern microcircuits and integrated circuits produced in the EU and other allied countries are supplied to russia via third countries such as Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, and Kazakhstan.
