Ukrainians won 31 medals at Warrior Games in the USA

The Ukrainian national team won 31 medals at the Warrior Games in the USA.

As the organizational manager of the Ukrainian team, Pavlo Kononenko, informed, on the fourth day of the Games, our athletes won 18 medals. 12 of them are in rowing competitions on simulators "and took almost the entire award podium."

Serhiy Naumov won "gold" at a distance of 1 minute. Viktor Legkoduh won two gold medals at the distance of 1 and 4 minutes. Ihor Galushka became the gold medalist in distances of 1 and 4 minutes. Pavlo Volovyk won "silver" at a distance of 4 minutes. Dmytro Branytskyi is the bronze medalist in the 4-minute race and the gold medalist in the 1-minute distance.

Vladyslav Shatilo won "gold" and "bronze" at distances of 4 and 1 minutes.

Oleksandr Dudarev received two bronze awards at distances of 4 and 1 minute.

Also, Ukrainian athletes received 6 awards in powerlifting: Yaroslava Mazur – "bronze" in the weight category up to 55 kg. Yulia Paevska – "bronze" in the weight category up to 67 kg. Vladyslav Shatilo – "gold" in the weight category up to 72 kg. Oleksandr Gavrylenko won first place in the weight category up to 88 kg, overcoming the weight of 173 kg. Serhiy Naumov, who lifted 180 kg, won in the category up to 107 kg.

In the 107+ kg category, Evhen Oleksenko won a convincing victory with a result of 210 kg, breaking the 200-kilogram record of the previous Warrior Games.

According to the medal result of the four days of competition, the Ukrainian national team has 31 medals of various types.

On August 19, the international sports competition "Warrior Games" opened in the American Orlando (Florida), in which the national team of Ukraine is participating for the first time.

32 athletes from Ukraine came to the competition, both veterans and active soldiers who had injuries.

The Warrior Games, organized by The United States Army Training and Doctrine Command, will be held until August 28. About 300 athletes representing the armies of the United States and allied countries came to participate in them.

The competition was started in 2010 as a way to restore and rehabilitate wounded soldiers.
