Ministry of defense: occupiers retreat from two settlements in the Luhansk region

The Ukrainian military continues to defend the Sievierodonetsk direction. The Armed Forces pushed the occupiers to retreat from the two settlements.

It was stated by Oleksander Motuzianyk, the spokesman of the Ministry of Defense.

According to him, Ukrainian defenders stopped the occupiers' attempt to capture Metiolkine and Bilohorivka, pushing the enemy back.

The situation in Sievierodonetsk is still tense. The russian troops, with the support of aviation, are storming residential areas in the central part of the city.

In the Bakhmut direction, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are preventing attempts by the occupiers to push Ukrainian troops out of their positions and create conditions for further offensives.

According to the British Ministry of Defense, russia controls over 90 % of the Luhansk region. russia has achieved this recent tactical success at significant resource cost, and by concentrating force and fires on a single part of the overall campaign. It has not been able to generate maneuver or movement on other fronts or axes, all of which have transitioned to the defensive.

As a reminder, the British intelligence considers that russia's political goal is in the occupation of all territory of the Donetsk and Luhansk region. Still, to achieve it, they need, besides Sievierodonetsk, to capture Kramatorsk and the Dnieper–Donetsk route.

As Rubryka previously reported, in the area of Metiolkino and Bilohorivka, the enemy tried to carry out assault operations, suffered losses, and retreated to previous positions. The enemy also fires in the areas of Zolote, Komyshuvakha, Mykolaivka, Bilohorivka, and Vrubivka.
