French President Emmanuel Macron has failed to mediate talks to end russia's military invasion.

This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with Italian TV channel Rai 1, published on the Telegram channel of the head of state.

"We should not look for a way out for russia, and Mr. Macron is doing it in vain. He has a wonderful experience that until russia wants it, it will not look for a way out. He wanted to get some results through mediation, but he did not find them, both from our side and from russia's side," Zelensky said.

The president also said that Macron had offered to make certain concessions to Ukraine's sovereignty to save putin's face.

"It seems to me that this is not very correct. We are not ready to save something for someone and lose territory for it. This is lost time," Zelensky said.

He added that for many years European leaders had sought an approach to russia and putin, and compared the situation to Hitler, "who was allowed to think about a new division of the world."

"russia showed on February 24 that it doesn't care about all concessions, and it will take the territory if it decides to do so. And Emmanuel doesn't need to do any diplomatic pa. He became president, I supported him. But without any steps forward, history doesn't forgive this. Only steps forward if you want to get yours back," Zelensky said.

Zelensky also said he was ready to negotiate with putin but on the terms of dialogue, not ultimatums.
