Ukrainian defenders liberated several settlements near Izium
The Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated several settlements around the city of Izium in the Kharkiv region.
This was stated at a briefing by Defense Ministry spokesperson Oleksandr Motuzianyk, Ukrinform reports.
"Yes, I can confirm. A number of settlements were liberated by the Ukrainian military as a result of intense hostilities. I can't give more information," he said.
Motuzianyk noted that it was in the Sloboda direction that the city of Izium and its surroundings are the places of the largest concentration of russian units.
"It is from there that they will also try to develop an offensive to the east," he added.
The Defense Ministry spokesperson also stressed that the army needed weapons.
"Europe needs to understand that today Ukraine is not just defending its territory. It defends the territory of Europe and the entire civilized world," he said.
First, we are talking about armored vehicles and air defense equipment to cover Ukrainian cities, where russia regularly fires missiles.
"We don't mind having counter-battery means and electronic intelligence. We will be grateful for any help," Motuzianyk said.

Izium will be the hottest point of the opposition in the Kharkiv region for the Armed Forces to russia's invasion. According to the Ukrainian General Staff, in the area of this city, the russian invaders gathered up to 22 battalion tactical groups. The Armed Forces successfully repel attacks and destroy enemy equipment and the enemy manpower.
