Today, Biden and Xi Jinping will hold talks

The talks will take place after US officials put pressure on China, claiming that Beijing has a share of responsibility for the ongoing war in Ukraine.

The White House said Biden and Xi Jinping would talk on the phone at 1:00 p.m. Greenwich on Friday, March 18, 2022, amid warnings from Washington that China could consider providing military support to Russia, Al Jazeera reported.

US President Joe Biden and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping are due to hold their first direct talks since November amid growing US concerns over Beijing's relations with Russia and its position on the escalating war in Ukraine.

US officials continue to put pressure on China because of Russia. The United States says Beijing is "responsible for using its influence on Putin" as the losses from Russia's invasion of Ukraine increase.

Earlier, The New York Times reported that Russia had asked China for military and economic assistance.

Earlier it was reported that Biden called Putin a "murderous dictator" who is waging an immoral war against the people of Ukraine. US President Joe Biden has announced $800 million in military aid to Ukraine. It will include air defense, anti-aircraft missiles, and a number of other weapons.
