Danilov: Horlivka is a Ukrainian city, we take our own, we don't need what doesn't belong to us

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksii Danilov explained why Ukraine began to reconquer Horlivka, Donetsk region, which has been occupied since 2014.

Danilov said this on the air of the parliamentary TV channel Rada, Ukrinform reports.

"What does it mean to defend? Horlivka is a Ukrainian city. It has been, is, and always will be. We take ours. We don't need what doesn't belong to us. We ask Putin to take away his soldiers, if not, the mothers will take them away in a completely different way," said the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council.

Danilov's words were preceded by information from Oleksii Arestovych, an adviser to the head of the President's Office, who said that one of the UAF brigades was stationed on the outskirts of Horlivka. According to Arestovych, Ukraine is likely to launch an offensive to liberate the city.

"If the enemy thinks that we will only defend ourselves, he is deeply mistaken. We will do as we see fit," Danilov said.
