Germany approves supply of 2,700 Strela anti-aircraft missiles to Ukraine

The German Ministry of Economy has approved the supply of 2,700 Strela anti-aircraft missiles to Ukraine from the former reserves of the armed forces of the German Democratic Republic.

DPA announced this, EP reports.

According to the agency, the country's Defense Ministry has been checking for several days what other weapons can be transferred to Ukraine.

On Saturday, the German federal government decided to deliver 1,000 anti-tank weapons and 500 Stinger anti-aircraft missile systems from the Bundeswehr to Ukraine as soon as possible. The weapon arrived in Ukraine on Wednesday.

In addition, the Netherlands and Estonia have received permission from Germany to supply German-made weapons to Ukraine from GDR reserves.
