Mastercard blocks some Russian financial institutions from accessing its payment system
International payment system Mastercard has blocked some Russian financial institutions from accessing its network as part of sanctions against the Russian Federation for invading Ukraine
Reuters reported this.
The names of the financial institutions against which the restrictions are imposed are still unknown. The publication reports that Mastercard will continue to work with regulators to comply with the terms of the sanctions.
The company also plans to contribute $2 million to humanitarian aid.
