Construction of Bayraktar drone plant to start in Ukraine

Ukraine will begin construction of a plant for the production of Bayraktar military drones and equip them with Ukrainian-made engines.

Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov stated this at a briefing.

"One of the examples of fulfilling this agreement will be the construction of the Bayraktar plant, which manufactures unmanned aerial vehicles. And which will be manufactured in Ukraine. And, accordingly, a training center will be established to train our pilots to operate Bayraktar unmanned drones of various categories," the minister noted.

This decision will be made during an official meeting in Kyiv with the Turkish delegation, including representatives of the UAV manufacturer.

The Minister added that, according to the decision of the Turkish company, the next generation of Bayraktar UAVs will use Ukrainian engines manufactured by Motor Sich.

Reznikov explained that the drones, which will be produced in Ukraine, would be used by both the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Turkey.

After the signing of the international agreement in Kyiv on February 3 by both parties, it will be sent to the Verkhovna Rada for ratification.
