Zelenskyi turns 43 years old: the youngest president of Ukraine celebrates his birthday
On Monday, January 25, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi celebrates his 43rd birthday.
The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi has already trained in the gym since the morning, from where he posted a photo on Instagram.
Today the head of state celebrates his birthday, but he started his morning with sports; at 7 o'clock he was already in the gym. He aptly signed his photo: "7:00 on the clock. 43 in the passport, 30 in the heart."
We decided to recall 10 facts from the life of the sixth president of Ukraine.
1. He was born on January 25, 1978, in Kryvyi Rih. For four years, Volodymyr lived in Mongolia, where his father worked. There he went to first grade. Then the family returned to Kryvyi Rih.
2. At the age of 16, Zelenskyi won a grant to study for free in Israel. However, he didn't go there because his father was against it. Later, under the pressure of his father, Zelenskyi would go to study law, not directing, as he wanted.
3. During his student years, he was fascinated by KVN ("Club of the Funny and Inventive People"), created a theater of miniatures "Bezprizornik." He played in the Kryvyi Rih KVN team of "Zaporizhzhia-Kryvyi Rih-Transit." In 1997, the "95 Kvartal" team was formed. Zelenskyi became not only the captain and actor but also the author of most sketches. In 1999-2003, "95 Kvartal" played in the KVN Premier League. At the end of 2003, the 1+1 TV channel offered the team to create a series of concerts comprising their best performances. In 2004, the team began to prepare their most famous project, while working on various TV shows.
4. In 2005, the "Vechirniy Kvartal" TV show was launched on the Inter TV channel; the ideologist, author, director, and leading actor is Volodymyr Zelenskyi. Subsequently, the "95 Kvartal" team was transformed into the Kvartal-95 Studio, owned by Volodymyr Zelenskyi, Borys Shefir, and Serhii Shefir. The studio releases several projects ("Vechirniy Kvartal," "Fight Club", "Ukraine, Get up!"), writes scripts for TV shows ("Song of the Year", "Polundra"), musicals ("Chasing Two Hares," "Three Musketeers," "Very New Year's movie, or a Night at the Museum"), movies, corporate events.
5. In 2010-2012, Volodymyr Zelenskyi was the executive producer of the Inter TV channel.
6. In November 2013, Forbes magazine calculated the profits of Ukrainian celebrities. According to the publication, Zelenskyi and his colleagues earned about $10 million.
7. In February 2015, Anton Herashchenko, a People's Deputy of Ukraine, reported that law enforcement officers had detained a criminal group preparing to assassinate Volodymyr Zelenskyi and his family. According to him, the gang numbered 7 people. According to operative data, one of them has a connection with the head of the mission of the Chechen Republic. They were to take revenge on Zelenskyi for ridiculing Ramzan Kadyrov.
8. Zelenskyi played the role of teacher Vasyl Holoborodko, who became president, in the popular TV series "Servant of the People."
9. He had been dating his future wife, Olena Kiiashko, for over 7 years. Olena and Volodymyr studied in same-year classes. She's a lawyer by education, although she was and remains one of the authors of Kvartal-95 Studio. In 2003, the couple married. The family is raising a daughter, Oleksandra (born in 2004), and a son Kyryl (born in 2013).
10. In the first round of the presidential election, Volodymyr Zelenskyi received 30.24% of votes. According to the results of the second round of elections, he scored 73.22% and won over Petro Poroshenko. On April 21, 2019, he was elected President of Ukraine.
