Vacation because of a period in Ukraine: the need or discrimination?

Disadvantages related to hygiene issues are only a share of the problem. Many women suffer from diseases associated with the menstrual cycle, such as dysmenorrhea, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, and mood disorders, experience pain before and during menstruation, so strong that they may lose efficiency because of this. Although the accepted world practice on providing sick leaves or day-offs for this time for women doesn't exist. The reason and justification can be the common phrase "Menstruation is not a disease." which is generally true, however, it gives fruitful ground for employers' withdrawal from responsibility, further tabooing this topic for the state of affairs to remains as it is.
